FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What's included in the benchmarks? Real B2B events — conferences, trade shows, summits and professional meetings — across in-person, virtual and hybrid formats, spanning the verticals shown on the home page. Consumer / B2C events are out of scope.
Where does the data come from? Public sources only: registration and ticketing pages, sponsor prospectuses, published agendas and event websites. We don't use private EventMobi customer data.
Why is everything anonymized? The tool exists to show you the market, not to name individual events. Benchmarks are always aggregated across a peer set, and identifying details — name, organizer, venue, source — are never exposed, even in the data explorer (which surfaces location and classification only).
How often is it updated? Continuously, on a rolling basis, as new editions are captured and existing records are revised. The counts and year span you see are live.
How accurate are the numbers? Every figure is computed from real published data and labeled with its own sample size and year span. Because the data is drawn from public sources, individual records can be incomplete — which is exactly why we report medians and percentile ranges instead of single point estimates, exclude unpublished zeros, and flag thin samples rather than hide them.
Why are some samples small? Some peer sets are simply narrow: a specific combination of format, region, size and industry may match only a handful of events. When that happens we either widen the comparison (and say so) or label the small sample directly. Read those results as directional and lean on the medians.
Why did my industry get dropped from the comparison? Industry is inferred from the organizer's NAICS code, which classifies the organizing entity rather than the event's topic, so some industries match too few editions to benchmark on their own. When that happens the tool widens to your format, region and size peers and flags the change on the results page.
Is this really free? Yes — the benchmarks and the data explorer are free, with no login and no form wall. The optional branded PDF and a demo of EventMobi are there if you want them, never required to see your numbers.
